Celebrating Dr. Bill Blattner's Retirement

Celebrating Dr. Bill Blattner's Retirement A Project of Institute of Human Virology

Dr. Bill Blattner is one of the fathers of HIV epidemiology and a co-founder of the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with Dr. Bob Gallo and Dr. Bob Redfield. Dr. Blattner will be retiring in January 2016 from IHV after decades of important work, and will be sorely missed.

The University of Maryland is creating a commemorative booklet to celebrate Dr. Blattner. We all have the opportunity to donate an ad in the booklet, which may include some congratulatory words to Bill, recognizing him for his lifetime achievements, contributions to IHV, or sharing what he means to you personally. You can donate an ad in the booklet before Friday, August 28, 2015. This opportunity supports the Institute of Human Virology, a place where Bill has dedicated so many years of his life

Donating an ad

here are six options for the ad: three full-page design options (F1, F2, and F3), which cost $1,000 each, and three half-page design options (H1, H2, and H3), which cost $500 each. Please consider honoring Dr. Blattner's career with one of these ad options, which you can view below. Proceeds benefit the research mission of IHV.

If you choose to donate an ad and to give online through this page, include the name of your choice in the "Additional Instructions About My Donation" box when checking out. The Director of Development for IHV, Lori Piccolo, will contact you after you select and donate your ad to receive details about your message honoring Dr. Blattner. If you choose to mail in your gift, please print and fill out this form and mail it to the included address.

Or, if you prefer not to donate an ad in the commemorative booklet, please consider making a gift of any size in honor of Dr. Blattner's years with IHV. Your donation has an impact as invaluable as Dr. Blattner's. Thank you.
