The JACQUES Initiative, a program of the Institute of Human Virology, is a program that supports individuals and communities affected by HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV).

The JACQUES Initiative:

  • Delivers supportive services to persons infected with HIV and HCV such as peer support, an integrated pharmacy, educational workshops, support groups and linkage to comprehensive prevention.
  • Engages and mobilizes the community to address the local HIV and HCV epidemics by training current and emerging health care providers and equipping volunteers to serve in their communities.
  • Provides HIV and HCV testing and wrap-around health services at safe places in the community.
  • Empowers clients and their communities to live well with HIV and HCV.
