The JACQUES Initiative A Project of Institute of Human Virology

The JACQUES Initiative, a program of the Institute of Human Virology, is a holistic care delivery model for individuals and communities impacted by HIV.

The JACQUES Initiative:

  • Delivers medical care and case management to persons living with HIV, including comprehensive services such as peer support, an integrated pharmacy, mental health services, educational workshops, and support groups.
  • Engages and mobilizes the community to address the local HIV epidemic by training current and emerging health care providers and equipping volunteers to serve in their communities.
  • Provides HIV testing and wrap-around health services at safe places in the community.
  • Empowers clients and their communities to live well with HIV.

How can you help?

Here are examples of what your donation can do:

$25: covers prescription co-pays for clients in need

$50: provides emergency client funds to help with transportation to our clinics or to help clients cover unforeseen expenses

$100: sponsors two weeks of support group meetings at the JACQUES Initiative

$250: covers the cost of medical supplies and educational materials for one day of testing

$500: sponsors a full day of HIV testing in a Baltimore neighborhood

$1000: provides two electronic tablets so workers can provide health screenings in the community
