Why should I make a donation online?
Making your donation online to the University of Maryland School of Medicine is easy, convenient, and secure. You can search and choose a project that interests you. You can also make multiple donations to different projects at one time during checkout, as well as keep track of your tax receipts.
Your gift to the UMSOM supports our initiatives in medical education, biomedical research, patient care and community service. You may also earmark your support to a specific area within the School. However you choose to designate your gift, your support will make a positive difference.

What is your assessment policy?
A portion of your gift to the University of Maryland School of Medicine is assessed to support the School's advancement efforts.
To aid our advancement efforts and to follow the best practices in university development, the University of Maryland School of Medicine implements a 6% gift assessment effective July 1, 2013 on all new gifts and pledges.
The assessment will allow for increased fundraising efforts for the UMSOM and improved development services, such as current donor recognition, special events, stewardship of existing gifts, donor outreach and marketing of philanthropy.

What does it mean to pledge?
The default option on our online gift form is a one-time gift; however, you can also choose to make a recurring gift. Recurring gifts can be made in any amount and scheduled for your convenience. Gifts like these allow you to make a larger commitment while spacing out the payments, ensuring consistent support to the School of Medicine.

Gifts to support the University of Maryland School of Medicine are administered by the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc.
The University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc. will send you an official receipt for the tax-deductible portion of your gift that will identify the fund(s) you chose to support. You will also receive acknowledgement from the School of Medicine.
